Heartburn is a very common and very unpleasant condition triggered when stomach acid backs up into the esophagus. It can make you feel as though someone has lit a small fire in your chest, and it’s burning its way up to your neck.

Aside using anti acid medications to help calm the burn, there are natural heartburn remedies and lifestyle changes that may be great to prevent and relieve the condition.

  1. NATURAL REMEDIES:

📌Ripe bananas
📌 Activated charcoal
📌Aloe vera juice
📌Chamomile tea
📌Licorice
📌Ash
📌Bicarbonate soda
📌Ginseng root

  1. LIFESTYLE CHANGES: 📌Avoid lying down for at least two hours after eating.
📌Do not eat too much food at once, over filling your stomach is a heartburn trigger.
📌 Avoid eating foods that are not aligned with your blood group.
📌Lose belly fat because excess belly fat can press against the stomach, forcing acids up into the esophagus.
📌 Avoid wearing your belt or pants too tight because tight clothes put added pressure on the abdomen which causes acid reflux.
📌Avoiding acid stimulating foods such as chocolate, alcohol, spicy foods, citrus fruits, peppermint, caffeine, sodas, chocolate, tomatoes, and high-fat foods as these are very common triggers for heartburn.
📌While a glass of milk can relieve heartburn and temporarily buffer stomach acid, nutrients in milk, particularly fat, may stimulate the stomach to produce more acid so it’s best to avoid it.
📌 It may sound strange, but chewing gum stimulates the production of saliva, which is an acid buffer. Plus, chewing gum makes you swallow more often, which pushes those nasty acids back out of your esophagus. However, avoid the peppermint flavored gum as this can make the condition worse.
  2. WHEN TO SEE A DOCTOR:

✔️If you find yourself having heartburn persistently or if you are using antacids for longer than two weeks, it’s time to see the doctor. You may have a condition called GERD – gastroesophageal reflux disease or peptic ulcer disease.

✔️Also, see a doctor immediately if you have heartburn with chest pain along with sweating, shortness of breath or pain in the arm or jaw.
